One Day of the Condor 12/30/2010   Leave a comment

Last day in California our last stop along Big Sur was at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Julia_Pfeiffer_Burns_State_Park Clean restrooms, clean park., docent and park rangers available to answer questions and many, many picture perfect locations that includes spectacular views of Big Sur Coast, the water fall, a key hole and many native plants and animals.  To our surprise we saw seven condors circling high over the ridges.  Living in the midwest and having Eagles winter over nearby, I didn’t completely grasp the importance of this bird sighting.  After a bit of research, I’ve discovered that others made it possible for me to be able to take these pictures.  Hope you enjoy the photos and the links on condors:

I have obviously enlarged one of the above birds to the point of being blurry but I wanted to show the white patches on the understide of their wings and tail
