One Day of the Condor 12/30/2010   Leave a comment

Last day in California our last stop along Big Sur was at Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park Clean restrooms, clean park., docent and park rangers available to answer questions and many, many picture perfect locations that includes spectacular views of Big Sur Coast, the water fall, a key hole and many native plants and animals.  To our surprise we saw seven condors circling high over the ridges.  Living in the midwest and having Eagles winter over nearby, I didn’t completely grasp the importance of this bird sighting.  After a bit of research, I’ve discovered that others made it possible for me to be able to take these pictures.  Hope you enjoy the photos and the links on condors:

I have obviously enlarged one of the above birds to the point of being blurry but I wanted to show the white patches on the understide of their wings and tail
